Today! GetLusty FlashDance Mob @ SlutWalk Chicago

Do you want to have an awesome time for a good cause? GetLusty is featuring our very first event along side SlutWalk Chicago! PS: RSVP to our Facebook event!

Haven't heard of SlutWalk? SlutWalk aims to combat the myth of "the slut" and the culture of victim blaming that prevails the world over. Their mission is to enforce the truth that those who experience sexual assault are never at fault, ever.

Why?

SlutWalk seeks to create a consent culture (versus rape culture), and we're totally behind that. We think consensual sex is wonderful sex. SlutWalk is all about marching, walking, parading, rocking, and rolling in demand of a revised cultural attitude toward sexual assault and rape.

Again--at GetLusty, we are all about healthy, amazing, consensual sex. We also want to take the shame away from sex and create an environment focused on sex positivity.

Attire

Your sluttiest!

When?

Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 11AM. We'll gather alongside SlutWalk Chicago.

Press Release: GetLusty for Couples to Organize Flashmob Dance to End Boring Sex, Support Consensual Sex

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Founder, GetLusty for Couples

www.GetLusty.com

Chicago, IL, 9/26/12 – Seven years ago, the Founder of GetLusty for Couples was raped near her university, DePaul University Chicago. Six weeks ago, she founded GetLusty for Couples to promote amazing, consensual sex between loving couples to end the shame and stigma of sex.

Love and relationship media resource GetLusty for Couples will work alongside SlutWalk Chicago to execute a flashmob dance with the mission of ending boring sex for couples. For 5 minutes, we'll do the electric slide in support of SlutWalk Chicago. An electric slide tutorial starts at 11:15AM and the dance itself starting promptly at 11:30AM on September 29, 2012 at the James R. Thompson Center (100 West Randolph Street, Chicago). Participation is open to the general public.

SlutWalk Chicago is an international annual event that aims to combat the myth of "the slut" and the culture of victim-blaming in sexual assault. “In the last year, this fight has spread to over 200 cities around the world, where independent organizers have organized locally-driven SlutWalk-inspired events. SlutWalk started, and is still going, because we and so many others around the world have had enough,” said SlutWalk Toronto originators Sonya Barnett and Heather Jarvis.

GetLusty For Couples, like SlutWalk, aims to promote consensual, amazing sex. We're completely behind the SlutWalk movement and we think you should be, too!

GetLusty aims to help SlutWalk Chicago in eliminating shame and embarrassment surrounding sexuality. The attendees will perform the Electric Slide dance in their undergarments (if they so choose) to Salt-N-Pepa's, "Let's Talk About Sex" and "Push It" to promote this discussion of sexuality in a public forum. After the conclusion of the dance, SlutWalk Chicago will proceed with their event from 12:00PM until 1:00PM.

RSVP today! Please visit the event page on Facebook at http://on.fb.me/PG0eXH or GetLusty’s related blog post at http://bit.ly/GetLustyFlashMob for additional information.

5 Male Nude Paintings

Our resident artist, Rachael Milton loves art. And sex. We don't get to connect them much, but we think that sex and art goes hand in hand. We're trying to get more into our Tumblr page, so we're looking up awesome pages like the Beauty of Vagina's or Hot Men Reading Books. But what about artistic nudes?

* * *

Who doesn't want some beautiful nude eye candy through out their day? The art of the nude has been predominately focused on females throughout history, but when the male form does pop up it's a sight to see. From late-Baroque to Expressionism here are our Top 5 Sexy Male Nude Paintings:

Guido Cagnacci
Drunken Noah

Jacques-Louis David
Male Nude Known as Patroclus

Gustave Caillebotte
Man Drying His Leg

Egon Schiele
Self-portrait, Nude

Henri Matisse
Male Nude

Like I always say, the art museum is an undercover erotic palace that's perfect for dates! Take your significant other out to see the new Modern Wing at the Art Institute of Chicago, you'll be surprised at how sexy those modernist color blocks can be. Maybe you can even get away with tweaking the nipples on those hot roman statues they have, you never know!

#WomensEqualityDay Chicago: Why We Got Involved

At GetLusty, we're loud, proud and mostly women. We also happen to be feminists that believe in equality. That's why we jumped on board with Women's Equality Day Chicago march, organized by an organization started several short months ago called WORD (Women Organized to Resist and Defend). Founder, and Chief Lust Officer, Erica Grigg looks into what Women's Equality Day is, and why GetLusty is involved with the march.

***

The march was organized to defend women's rights against recent claims by Congressional legislation that could hamper our ability to use birth control and contraception.

What is Women's Equality Day?

According to Wikipedia, Women's Equality Day is a day proclaimed each year by the United States President to commemorate the granting of the vote to women throughout the country on an equal basis with men. Women in the United States were granted the right to vote on August 26, 1920, when the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution was certified.

The amendment was first introduced many years earlier in 1878. Every president has published a proclamation for Women's Equality Day since 1971 when legislation was first introduced in Congress by Bella Abzug. This resolution was passed designating August 26 of each year as Women's Equality Day.

Why is GetLusty involved?

Birth control & contraception are essential components of our sexual identities. No one knows women's bodies more than women. That's why we--and thousands of other American women--were so enraged by Todd Akin's comments about, "legitimate rape".

Yeah, we talk about sex a lot. But having a sexual voice starts far from the bedroom. Without a say in politics or business, women could never have come as far as we have.

Couples & parents, like those who marched at the Women's Equality Day march in Chicago (aren't they cute?), can and should make an impact on women's issues. Strong and loving relationships, with sexual satisfaction, breed happiness and health. That's good for everyone.

So celebrate today, ladies. Gents, celebrate your love's freedom. This is a time to talk about the equality that we should enjoy--in and out of the bedroom.

Why Sex Education Helps End Rape

At GetLusty, we're serious about consensual sex. We think that both a woman and man should have the knowledge and right to make their own consensual sexual decisions. That's why it was a blessing and a curse when Todd Akin (R-Mo) talked with such ignorance earlier this week about rape. Akin negatively influenced his party to say the least. The beauty? America is responding.

***

The country has erupted. I've seen articles from ladies who I never heard of, alongside power houses like Eve Ensler, speak out against this common social practice.

Rape happens

1 of 6 American women will be sexually assaulted in her lifetime. Eve herself is using this as a platform (which I completely support), V-Day 2013. Many of these assaults happen before ladies are 30, by the way, and are by men they know.

Why I love Eve

I love her because I found out about her just after I was raped as a junior at university. A good friend and I shouted out together her Vagina Monologue lines (she re-claimed the cunt).

My best friend held my hand as I walked proudly 4 days after I was raped. A small but ferocious group of ladies marched against the assaults that happened on or near campus. Almost all the responses were positive. After marching around our campus, I told my entire rape story to a listening audience. It was my first therapy session. All in the name of talking about sex, gender, and sexuality -- painful and happy.

How sex education helped me remain confident

When I learned I was not broken, guilty or shameful, I grew stronger. Luckily, my rape was a 24-hour ordeal. Police could call my trauma a, "rape." Many women are not so lucky. They don't know their consent was violated. They don't know they have the option to say, "no."

When we (both genders) learn about how to communicate consent and respect the decision of their partner, we'll be a lot closer to not experiencing rape. -- If it was only this easy.

The problem? Many women and men automatically refrain from talking about sex. They, "have enough" sex and, "they're lucky because their wife puts out." Across the U.S. we're taught that abstinence is the answer to our sexual questions. Rather than talking about our sexual problems, we sweep them under the rug.

As a country we're absolutely clueless about sex. Prove it, you ask?

Check out some stats from the U.S. versus European teens from Advocates for Youth

Pregnancy
The United States’ teen pregnancy rate is almost three times that of Germany and France, and over four times that of the Netherlands.(Figs. 1 and 2)
EST-pregnancy-graph
EST-netherlands-birth-graph
Birth
The United States’ teen birth rate is nearly eight times higher than that of the Netherlands’, over five times higher than France’s, and over four times higher than Germany’s. (Fig. 3) [1,3,4]
EST-birth-graph
Abortion
In the United States, the teen abortion rate is twice that of Germany and more than 1.5 times that of the Netherlands. (Fig. 4) [1,2,3,17]
EST-teen-abortion-graph

HIV

The percentage of the United States’ adult population that has been diagnosed with HIV or AIDS is six times greater than in Germany, three times greater than in the Netherlands, and one-and-a-half times greater than in France.(Fig. 5)[5]
EST-HIV-graph

SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES

Limited data is available for STI rates in Europe. However, data from the Netherlands found that rates of reported incidence are considerably higher in the United States.[6,7] Further, comparisons of prevalence (the proportion of a given population which is infected) find that the Chlamydia prevalence among young adults in the United States is twice that among young adults in the Netherlands.[8,9] *

CONTRACEPTIVE USE AT MOST RECENT SEXUAL INTERCOURSE

U.S. teens report using contraception (usually either birth control pills or condoms or both) far more often that their peers of previous decades. However, condom and contraceptive use leveled off between 2003 and 2007. U.S. teens still use contraception or condoms much less consistently than their peers in Europe. When measuring use of highly effective hormonal contraception, condoms, or both, researchers found that German, French, and Dutch youth were significantly more likely to be well protected at most recent sex than were their U.S. peers. The greatest disparities were in contraceptive pill use among females. French young women were more than twice as likely to have been using contraceptive pills at last intercourse as young women in the United States, German youth five times as likely, and Dutch youth almost six times as likely. (Figs. 6,7,8) [10,11,12,13]
EST-contraceptive-use-graph

Not just teens

These numbers aren't just for teens. They relate later in life when we're, "all grown up," and in relationships. Because Americans aren't able to talk about sex, we're more likely to have sex without consent. Why? Many don't know what consent even is.

Sex education = better sex decisions

My mission for founding GetLusty was to chip away at the notion that women are passive observers of their own sexuality. My mission: educate couples coming out of this broken sexual education system. GetLusty is an outlet for couples in long-term relationships to have the best sex of their lives -- without judgement.

"Legitimate Rape" = BS

Usually, we only talk about sex between couples. This story, however, is essential for women to hear and see. No matter what political side of the spectrum you're on, this message is pretty nasty.

So why are we even talking about this on GetLusty? Well, in our network, we know and love many sexual assault survivors. I am one of them. For issues of sex, consent is also an essential issue to talk about. One of our main goals is to educate both women (and men) so they can both negotiate and decide what they want most sexually.

Back to the topic--for politicians to talk about rape is few and far between. That's why I'm happy to see his quote across the media. However, it's almost insane to hear about the lack of knowledge. On the other hand, I feel totally creeped out by what this candidate is saying.

I mean, where is the state of sex education in this country that this man honestly has no idea what happens during rape? It's pretty simple, Todd. Everything happens the same, just it's forced. Coerced. It's violent. It's an act of violence more than anything, and pregnancy can most definitely happen during the process. It's sex, Todd. That's what happens when sex happens.

Shutting the whole thing down? What the hell does that mean, anyway?

Please, please, ladies. Let's make sure this man does NOT get elected in Missouri.

Lusty Lady Gaga, Trailer Released Despite Her Struggles

Yesterday, in her usual fashion, Lady Gaga surprised us again. This time she used the 50 Shades of Grey phenomenon to help launch her new perfume line. This, all while Gaga faced several personal struggles this year.

Do we love it when sexy things like BDSM go mainstream? Yes! Do we love Lady Gaga because she promotes being crazy and fabulous, no matter what people think about her? Of course.

Now, this is a quickie as they say. It's short and sweet. However, as you'll see, there are a lot of bodies covered and dripping with black paint (that has a very similar texture to rubber latex). Though we understand most of what Lady Gaga does is for media attention, we still relish it.

Enough reading, check out the trailer!

10 Reasons Henrick Rimmel Should Flaunt His Olympic-Sized Boner

Source: Mirror.co.uk via GetLusty on Pinterest

There are so many reasons Henrik Rummel (and the entire USA row team) should be damn glad for this picture. The picture is being publicized widely across social media, and it's garnering millions of internet eyeballs.

Of course, whenever balls are involved, we want to talk about it!

Therefore, we put a list together of the top ten reasons Henrick (and the entire USA row team) should be glad he appeared to have an Olympic-sized boner.

***

Why Henrick Should be Glad

#1 Henrick propelled the USA row team to the head of the Olympic media list.

#2 He has a beautiful penis. Now we all know that. Who couldn't stare at it?

#3 He's likely to be getting more play from the ladies... Or who ever he's into.

#4 As a Bronze metal winner, you're not expecting tons of press. This event has propelled him into the otherwise dim limelight.

#5  His smile shows the pride in his face. It makes him look so attractive to be so proud, doesn't it?

#6 A tangental benefit: Henrick should be glad he's starting a sex education conversation! He's teaching the American public, "sometimes boners aren't appropriate". And hey, we'd love to have the conversation about, "When is it OK to have a boner?

#7 Henrick made it so much more interesting to talk about the Olympics.

#8 Because boners happen and Henrick is just an example of that.

#9 Because believe it or not, that could've been Henrick flaccid. Imagine him with a real hard-on.

#10 Not only has he put himself out "on the line" to the world. Henrick and other Olympic athletes understand that their bodies are pivitol to success. This is something positive to teach the U.S. and international public--we should start getting a better understanding of our bodies and how we can best use them!
